Every municipal election, I read the sa国际传媒鈥檚 bios on the candidates for my area and pick the new candidates who have never served before. That鈥檚 who I vote for.

Re: 鈥淪peculation tax is unfair to owners,鈥� letter, Sept. 19. I believe the writer who declares she is a part-time resident is missing the point. She describes what she believes she adds to the community, but does not address what she takes away.

I hope Saanich voters notice that Mayor Richard Atwell and four others are running for Saanich council as a slate, purporting to be 鈥淯nited for Saanich.

Re: 鈥淭ent-city resident a dedicated student,鈥� letter, Sept. 15. I know there are many young men and women who, through no fault or intent of their own, find themselves homeless and facing very difficult circumstances.

Re: 鈥淐hange the values that shape our systems,鈥� column, Sept. 16. As an affluent traveller from the States, I took great umbrage at the uppity rantings of Trevor Hancock.
