Re: 鈥淟ater weekend bus service proposed for capital region,鈥� Dec. 18. While I applaud sa国际传媒 Transit鈥檚 latest proposal for additional late-night service, I do have one major concern as it relates to the buses as they drive past late at night.

Re: 鈥淭urn off the gas pumps and see what happens,鈥� comment, Dec. 15. Yes, we need fossil fuels to heat many of our buildings, to run many of our vehicles, for everything from cosmetics to plastics and food production.

We have returned for our annual winter visit to your charming city. Key word: charm.

Recently, I waited one hour for a cab (at 10 p.m., not a busy time, according to the cab driver who drove me home) to take me from James Bay to Fairfield. This isn鈥檛 the first time. It has happened on several occasions.

Re: 鈥渟a国际传媒 to offer tax breaks in drive to cut emissions,鈥� Dec. 6. sa国际传媒鈥檚 aggressive program for reducing CO2 emissions by 2040 is highly commendable. Also, the apparent buy-in by most British Columbians is equally impressive.

Re: 鈥淏ack up green talk by giving up parking passes, councillor tells colleagues,鈥� Dec. 18. Once again, Geoff Young shows as one of the few sane voices on Victoria council.
